NEW PROGRAM 🥳

FITNESS AND BALL SKILLS 🏃‍♀️🏉

This program includes 4 x mini training sessions which assist in developing touch specific fitness and basic ball skills eg. passing, dumping, scooping. These fundamental skills are practiced under fatigue to replicate a game/tournament.

The Final Touch Fitness and Ball Skills Mini Session includes some of my favourite fitness drills. The work:rest ratio is similar to that of a touch football game, making it specific and relevant to our sport.

More information on the program in the coming days 👍

There is no denying that Australia’s top sporting codes have suffered increased injury rates since returning to competition 📈 You only need to look at the NRL’s extensive casualty ward list to understand the severity of the situation...

...As sport returns, we need to remind ourselves of our responsibilities as athletes, coaches, sports officials, managers and parents/carers. We all want to return to sport as quickly as possible, however, we need to ensure that we are physically prepared to meet the demands of our game. 🔥💪

Why is strength training important for touch football players ?

“Strength training is a topic I am very passionate about, and a fitness component that I believe is highly underrated in touch football.

Growing up, I didn’t do any form of strength training. I didn’t know of any of the health or athletic benefits of strength training, and I never even considered it to help with my athlete performance. In Year 12, I was missed out on a few teams, one being the U18 Youth Australian Team.”

IT IS HERE 🥳⁣

Our in-season training program is now available via our membership portal. 🔥⁣

This is Phase 1 (4 weeks) of our in-season program. This program is designed to help keep you fit, fast and strong during the Touch Football season. With the return of Touch Football, these sessions are designed to compliment your Touch Football training schedule and allow for multiple sessions in a week. 🦵💪👊⁣

It's important to note that we recommend completing Phase 1 and Phase 2 of our Pre-Season program before doing this program. ✔️ ⁣

The goal over the course of this program is to ensure we're hitting high speed metres each week in our sprint work, keeping our strength levels up and getting in solid amounts of conditioning efforts. 🔥
...

The pre season program has not only ensured we’ve put in weeks and weeks of work, but also allowed us to replicate the ‘game demands’ as best as possible.🦵⁣

So with 8 weeks of pre season training under our belt...where to next? 🤷‍♀️⁣

With the return to Touch Football, our in season training program is designed to compliment your Touch Football training schedule and allow for multiple sessions per week. 🔥⁣

Stay tuned for more details, coming tomorrow 👊⁣
